We could get into technical details like fiber length and micron count, but mostly we are here to say that Tynd is beautiful, delicious, rare. A knitter’s dream yarn.

Kristin Ford, the founder of Woolfolk, has made it her business to create exquisite yarns that come from sheep who are raised with care and attention both to the sheep and the land on which they live.

Tynd is Ultimate Merino^®, a fiber grown from merino sheep at the southernmost tip of South America. Ultimate Merino^® doesn’t happen by chance, but by the innovative efforts of farmers to produce the very best wool fiber while being land stewards of the Patagonian grasslands.

The wool for Tynd comes from an Argentinian cooperative of farmers, Ovis 21, that focuses on land preservation, restoring the grasslands through the use of sheep. The farmers have learned to raise their sheep in harmony with the land—moving the herd from pasture to pasture to avoid overgrazing.

Cecelia Campochiaro’s Swarf is a sleek take on the dickie, a beautiful layer to wear under your favorite jacket. It calls for one skein each of five colors.
