Happy Friday, everyone! It’s the final day of work before Team MDK takes a well-earned week off for the holidays, and we are ready to rumble! (By “rumble,” we mean sleep in, eat Chex mix, and knit all the things.)

However . . .

Speaking for myself and perhaps a few others out there, we are not quite ready for the holidays yet, giftwise. There is a beloved knitter on our list who needs an expression of true love in the form of a license to treat herself. It might be a faraway knitting bestie who would appreciate a boost toward their next project, or has always wanted an Akerworks Swatch Gauge or a flight of stitch markers. Someone who loves to knit, but likes to pick out their own yarn and gear. We’re not saying this person is picky, but we’re not not saying that.

Or maybe, and I’m also talking of myself here, one has neglected to nudge one’s beloveds in the proper direction for a gift for oneself, and therefore one is bracing for a glittery, fragrant avalanche of bath bombs. Which are lovely and all. But, you know: not knitting related.

MDK is here to help!

This year, after many requests from loved ones on the eve of holidays, birthdays, and other occasions calling for a tribute, we finally cracked the code (literally) to be able to offer gift cards.

Do not delay, get an MDK Gift Card today. It’s easy, and it’s instant. You choose the amount, and presto: gift is sorted, and knitter is happy.

And then it’s time to exhale, and enjoy the warmth and light of the season.

Thanks so much to everyone for your kind support of the MDK Holiday Shop this year. We really appreciate it.

Have the merriest and brightest, most festive time. And be sure to open your Snippets email tomorrow, it’s gonna be lit!

Love,

Kay

  • Happy Holidays to all at MDK. A special thanks for these delightful morning missives. They go so well with my morning coffee. Your body efforts are never wasted. Enjoy your week. It’s your turn.

    • Body??? Where the heck did that come from?

  • Thanks for your always interesting early morning reads. So enjoy each of them as they are so varied in subject and sense of humor is welcome at the start of each day. Greetings and rest to all of you wonderful spirited people.

  • Wishing all of you light, warmth, perfect cookies, peace, and joy!

  • Aw come on Kay – you say bath bombs are not knitting related??? Don’t you knit in the bathtub? In the middle of this snowstorm and 2 days before Christmas, when all the shopping is done, all the food prepared and all the holly and mistletoe hung, what else is there to do? Happy Christmas everyyone and pray that the church service on Christmas Eve is not cancelled.

  • Thank you, all you lovely folk who have brightened many a morning and mailbox, both email and snailmail. You are a wonderful source of inspiration of all things knitterly and other aspects of life.
I hope enjoy your time off. I think I will try to resume work on my color explosion throw (third strip!!!) now that gift knitting is scared off into a corner. Happy New Year!!

  • I echo the thanks of the others who have commented. Your communications are always welcomed. You have great contributors who make me think, laugh, and occasionally there may be the odd tear. And, so much inspiration – for knitting and for life. “Be present, be polite, and try to help someone” (I put that in our Christmas letter.). Stay warm and safe everyone – there’s a storm coming to my part of eastern Canada and lots of your United States too.

    • I love your sentiments, Mary. Mind if I use it? I hope the storm won’t be as bad as forecast. It’s very cold out here in the West, Kelowna, BC. Stay warm.

Thank you to MDK and all their terrific writers. I’m warmed by their love of knitting, as I am, and their adventures. Merry merry Christmas !!!

  • Happy holidays to all at MDK and to all my fellow subscribers, as well. May you all be safe, cozy and content.

  • I love gift cards. A License to Explore!
