You’ve Got Snippets: March 25, 2023

Have you joined the Great Dickie-along? Arne and Carlos’s super-fast, super-fun Kos Neckwarmer has big dickie energy, and we’re having a blast. Ann had to wrestle with a little thing called gauge her first time around, but her second Kos Neckwarmer is a big win for knitterly gumption.

There’s plenty of time to join the dickie party in the MDK Lounge. Need supplies? You’ll need 2 balls of Norwegian Wool in your main color, and single balls or leftovers of 3 additional colors, to make the pattern as written. Or you can change it up to a graphic, 2-color version with 2 balls of your main color and 2 balls of a contrasting shade. Have fun whipping up this cheerful and cheering project, and you can pretend you’re Scandinavian on your next chilly walk.

We had a big time on MDK this week. 

MDK’s resident yarn sommelier Jillian Moreno paired a strand of Atlas with a strand of Kidsilk Haze, and gosh: they are so good together. 

If Max Daniels’s latest self-care sermonette doesn’t get you singing Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock” at the top of your lungs, we don’t know what will. 

Early industrial looms! Heavy metal weaving! Tag along with Adrienne Martini on a visit to Thistle Hill Weavers. 

When the world’s cutest baby pants pattern needs a new yarn, who you gonna call? (Kay.)

This weekend, take a few minutes to watch this beautiful short video, and pat yourself on the back if you knit with wool—you’re helping preserve a renewable, sustainable resource, and the planet’s biodiversity.
