Summer of Socks

We’re loving all the DK-weight socks showing up this summer—knitters are having fun exploring Fatimah Hinds’s four designs for MDK Field Guide No. 27: Sock Odyssey. Big fun: using DK weight yarns, rather than the typical fingering weight.

We had a big time on MDK this week.

Kay made the case: nothing gives better motivation to finish an Alabama Chanin piece than treating yourself to a beautiful kit from The School of Making. Reminder: If you want to get a kit in time for our workshop on September 6, order it by August 12.

The Olympics are in town, and our man in Paris, Franklin Habit, is contending for a gold medal in hunkering down.

Jeni Hankins took us deep into our feels with a tour of the recently opened Barbie exhibition in London.

Samantha Brunson gets us behind the scenes of some fascinating maker spaces. This time, it’s a puppet master’s studio—amazing!
