Inspiration
Color! Color! Color! Color!
Here’s a quick peek at four things that really shiver me timbers. In no particular order:

Pixellation. Jennifer Beaumont’s Pixelated Pullover is the best kind of color-picking puzzle. What are the three perfect colors? Pictured here is Madelinetosh Tosh DK Twist. A ramble through the Pixelated Pullover projects on Ravelry reveals life’s rich pageant when it comes to selecting the three colors to use.

Marie Wallin en fuego! Rowan head designer Marie Wallin now has her 12 Windswept collection patterns available individually on her website. So many gems in this collection. I have admired her unexpected color sense for a long time, and I love any project that calls for 13 shades of Rowan Felted Tweed.
Temari balls. Have you ever heard of this Japanese craft? I sure hadn’t. Here’s a tutorial that makes something spectacular out of what is basically winding yarn in a superspecific way. Strangely appealing.

Extravagant embroidery. I spent a week at Shakerag Workshops with Tilleke Schwarz, the embroidery genius from the Netherlands. I now have a new appreciation for what these artists do, after five days’ work that resulted in maybe ten square inches of tiny stitches. I just read a wonderful piece by Louise Gardiner, the artist whose work is an eruption of color and texture. Please take a minute to read her musings on how and why she does what she does.
