Announcing! The Designer for Field Guide No. 24
Dear everybody,
It’s a joyous day. After months of keeping a delicious secret all to ourselves—only occasionally letting a tiny hint drop—we are thrilled to reveal the designer whose work will light up the next MDK Field Guide.
Olga Buraya-Kefelian.
As a military spouse, Olga has lived all over the world before settling in her current home in the Washington, D.C. area. Transformation and reinvention are a way of life for her. Her designs reflect a constant searching for new ways to form and shape knitted stitches and fabric. Precision and playfulness combine.
A design by Olga is instantly recognizable. Her pieces fold and flow in exhilarating ways, often in three dimensions. They are wearable and timeless—impeccable in every detail. Looking at an Olga design, a knitter can’t help but ask, in wonderment, “How did she do that?”
In Field Guide No. 24, we all will be able to discover, with our own needles, how Olga does that.
