Fun in a Box
Dear everyone,
What with December 1 arriving and minimalist Thanksgiving now behind us (no yeast rolls, sob!), we’ve been thinking about what we’re up to here. After 18 years of carrying on—it’s always the same thing that keeps us going.
Fun.
It’s as simple as that. We’re here to bring you the fun.
As we built MDK, four years ago, we knew that a big part of knitting is the gear. The yarns. The set up. The tools and gadgets and gizmos that are helpful—and also a delight.
That’s what we kept in mind as we created the Holiday Shop this year. What’s fun?
It’s the kind of shop that a bunch of knitters would make. We come at this as people who love to knit, not as ecommerce experts. We’re not great at statistics or analytics—we just go with our gut about what we think is beautiful and useful and fun.
We hear often from folks who love getting an MDK package in the mail. That makes our day.
We treat you the way we’d like to be treated. When we get an email, we reply as fast as we can, and we want to make every order right.
So, in this year like no other, our hope is that you’ll find some fun in this collection of yarns, kits, bags, and gift ideas for the people in your life. And for you, too.

Happy Holidays! I have a very dumb question. Are tea towels purely decorative? Thanks! So far, I’m loving the shop!!! (Truly. The mug is adorable, especially because I do knit & use ballband dish cloths to the bewilderment of my knitting group.)

I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful postcards you include in all your orders!! I send them to friends and family just for fun, and they are always SO appreciated! They have inspired at least two lapsed knitters to dig into long-forgotten stashes and they have introduced regular knitters to MDK for the first time! Postcards for the win!!

I’m on a bit of a gift-buying budget, but I want the stickers so bad! I have my fingers crossed that after the holidays, maybe they become available to buy separately. The sock one is adorable!
Love the stickers – was hoping they would be with my journal when I got it, but sadly no and I don’t see how to order them separately. Is there a way to order them?

I love the mug and the book stand! And the stickers were such a nice surprise. As are the beautiful postcards–I love those the most!
