Fun
Karidalong Midsummer Update
It’s amazing to see the projects from MDK Field Guide No. 18: Beginnings as they fly off the needles out there. You people are incredible knitters—and speedy ones, too! Karida Collins’s designs are made for ease, perfect for summer take-along knitting.
Prize Round One!
It wasn’t easy picking three projects for our first round of prize winners, so we’re glad there’s still more prize-winning to come. For now, we are sending off a summer swag set of MDK love to these three lucky knitters.
Christine, who is always in the running for Most Joyful Sweater Knitter. It’s so fun to see her Simple Swoncho. We hope she gets some Swoncho weather soon.
Brooke inspired with her inventive and no-waste approach. She knit a pair of Diagonal Mitts (with added i-cord piping!) to coordinate with her Colour Block Shawl (Ravelry link) by Noma Ndlovu.
And here’s MDK Lounge knitter Holly rocking three completed projects: a pair of Diagonal Mitts, an Everyday Cowlette, and a Cowl!
What are the Prizes?
Each winner will receive a Ballband Thermal Mug and Metallic Pouch in the happy mail soon, so they can accessorize in the finest MDK swag style.
We’re Not Done Yet
Keep knitting and posting your projects to the Instagram hashtag and in the MDK Lounge so we can see them—you’ve got to be in it to win it!

Ooh and aah!
Billy’s cowl…inspired to finish mine.
Very, very, very nice work.
Holly’s cowl!
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!!!! I feel like dancing!
Congratulations to a most joyful, skilled, and prolific knitter! Your joy is infectious. Your knitting inspires me.
Knit on!
Awww, thank you, Diane!
Congrats to the winners! Beautiful knitting
I love Brooke’s sunny mitts! Congrats to each of the winners!! ✨
Love Christine’s poncho! It’s on my list now that you all said the cables could be substituted with garter stitch.
Congratulations to all of these talented knitters! So inspirational!!!
I finally began my Cityscape Scarf which I will change to a cowel, once it’s finished. I’ve just made it through one full repeat. I love the cool colorway yarns. A stress fracture to my sternum held me up from starting this project, which I planned to start while recovering from a full knee replacement. I can only sit erect for short periods, but have found I can knit in a semi laid back position. Learning Intarsia was easier than I ever thought it would be, thanks to MDK.
I think that one of the benefits of knitting is to be in a “semi laid back position”! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
