Fun
Jen and Jim on Fruity Knitting
Dear Ann,
The Fruity Knitting podcast, hosted by Andrew and Andrea Doig, is going strong. Every two weeks, there’s another episode full of knitting goodness. The podcast covers a broad range of features, including interviews and show and tells from knitters all over the world, plus the couple’s own knitting projects, which are often ambitious and always beautiful. Andrea and Andrew respect their audience’s enthusiasm and curiosity, and they aren’t afraid to go deep into a demonstration or tutorial. Fruity Knitting’s production values are high, and it’s ad-free, thanks to the support of its many patrons.
Needless to say, it’s an ideal program to knit to. It’s like being in a super-smart knitting group. If they could see me on the other side of the screen, I’d make sure to be knitting on something interesting.
Episode 46, which just came out, is near to our hearts because the main event is a half hour-long interview with two of our favorite knitters and teachers, Jen and Jim Arnall-Culliford. Jen and Jim brought A Year of Techniques into the world, and we knitters are much richer for it.
I’ve known Jen (and Jim by association!) for years, and I still learned a lot in Andrea’s interview that I didn’t know. There are reasons why A Year of Techniques is so good at conveying information in a clear, complete, and confidence-building way. They trained for this!
Grab your knitting, click play on Episode 46, and enjoy. While you’re over on the YouTube, go ahead and subscribe to the Fruity Knitting channel so you don’t miss a show.
Love,
Kay

I’ve been a fan of Fruity Knitting since you first wrote about them and the interview with Jen and Jim was especially enjoyable.
Well, how fun will this be? Thanks! Side note: “Andrea and Andrew respect their audience’s enthusiasm and curiosity, and they aren’t afraid to go deep into a demonstration or tutorial.” That sounds like part of the Modern Daily Knitting philosophy–another sign of goodness to come!
Great interview by Andrea with Jen and Jim, packed with knitty, as well as other tidbits. Chemistry PhD indeed! Love Fruity Knitting, and proud to be a Patron.
