Bis Gleich
Dear Ann,
With hearty thanks to MDK reader Magali, who took the time to send us this gem, here’s a transcendent little knitting break for you. It’s a short (20-minute) film by Benjamin Wolff, Bis Gleich (Till Then). It has the tiniest of knitting angles. Though it’s a bit sad (but not as sad as you might expect), I am placing Bis Gleich in my personal pantheon of works that make me feel the deep-down beauty of our days together in this life. (Others: Wim Wenders’s film Wings of Desire, and Thornton Wilder’s play Our Town, especially when performed by high school students.)

I love Thortnon Wilder’s “The Skin of Our Teeth”. I got a bit sick of “Our Town” performed by high school student myself and it seemed like every high school had the bright idea that this was a perfect play for high school students to perform. I also saw live tv performance of the play, and I truly think it’s better served wi by people with a bit more life experience.
