Knit to This: Henry Louis Gates Jr.
Dear Kay,
This is one of those conversations that is pure joy to hear: Terry Gross talking with the historian Henry Louis Gates Jr.
Gates has brought us so much, for so many years. His latest gift to us is his new four-part PBS series, The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song.
I think anybody who listens to Terry Gross for any period of time realizes what a brilliant conversationalist she is. Here, she wisely steps back and lets Gates take the stage to spin for us the most exquisite, tender, revealing set of stories. He lets us in on his own life about faith, the Black church, and what religion means to him.
You can listen to their conversation right here, at the Fresh Air with Terry Gross site.
So much to think about, so good.
Love,
Ann
Thank you Ann! That was pure joy to listen to. And a big thank you to you and Kay for always bringing items such as this to my attention. You two provide fabulous knitting information along with links to important dialogues that I might not otherwise be aware of.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I didn’t knit to this but I did clean the kitchen. 🙂
Oh I love them both! Thanks!
This was an amazing interview between two of the best human beings we have in the U.S. They communicate to each other while educating and enlightening and inspiring us to do better, to do good in the world. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much for recommending this today. A very educational, inspiring conversation.
They are 2 National Treasures.
Absolutely perfect! Thanks for suggesting.
