Dear Ann,

Last Saturday afternoon, I had the best time playing a small part in Melanie Falick’s online conversation with Jeanette Sloan. The recording of their talk is now available. I’ve linked it up top so you can just click on it and listen to the whole thing.

One of the fun things about watching this conversation in real time was that I could see the audience in their tiny Zoom windows, and most were knitting throughout the program. So this is a verified Knit to This!

I think you will really enjoy hearing from Jeanette and Melanie, who worked together recently on MDK Field Guide No. 15: Open. I still can’t quite believe that we get to work with both of these talented people, who have contributed so much to the lives of knitters and makers.

This conversation is part of a series that Melanie Falick is hosting every month, featuring makers, including some of the ones that appear in Melanie’s book, Making a LifeWorking by Hand and Discovering the Life You Are Meant to Live. So stay tuned: There’s more excellent knit-to-this programming ahead.

Love,

Kay

  • I’m here to testify that this was wonderful. If you weren’t there, you’re going to want to watch it. If you were there, you’ll probably want to watch it again.

  • This talk was like the best nights at Knit Night, or like being at Shakerag — I felt like I was with my people. Just pick up some knitting and a beverage, and settle in. You’ll come away uplifted.

    • I couldn’t agree more. I’m so glad I got to be there.

  • This lovely lady is an inspiration!

    • I am sorry that you have started infiltration of political/social trends into your lovely site. I enjoyed coming to it as a refreshing break from all the world turmoil. I am sadly cancelling my Saturday subscribe with you. Barbara Kneer
