Knit to This: Launch Party with Norah Gaughan
Our newest Field Guide is here, y’all—Field Guide No. 28: Renewal—and it is full of Norah Gaughan goodness. But don’t take our word for it: kick back with your needles and yarn and watch Kay and Ann’s convivial conversation with the designer herself.
In one short hour, you’ll discover the source of Norah’s inspiration behind these three cardigans, mitts, and hat. You’ll also discover how each pattern found its name, as well as how mixing Kidsilk Haze and Felted Tweed makes a fabric even more luscious and deep than expected.
Ann, Kay, and Norah dive into the wonders of these collars, which are almost (but not quite) lapels. And, of course, the trio takes a detour into the fine line between a full, dramatic sleeve and a sad, limp one.
Load up the Field Guide No. 28: Renewal Look Book, grab your knitting, and settle in for an hour well spent.
It was an hour that went quickly. I’ll knit to it again!
What a great session! I enjoyed it tremendously and apreciate the opportunity to hear Norah Gaughan talk about her life’s story and how she creates the amazing designs she does.
I really hate when my Making resources jump on the political band wagon, especially in a time when the campaigns are getting so ugly and hateful. It makes me not want to have anything to do with those jumping on the band wagon.
It’s hard for me to fathom how a simple invitation to a makers event for those who share a viewpoint would bother anyone. In any case, that invitation is not included in the recording, since it’s no longer timely.
I really hate when my Making resources jump on the political band wagon, especially in a time when the campaigns are getting so ugly and hateful. It makes me not want to have anything to do with those jumping on the band wagon. I’m sure I have not said this on your website before, but it doesn’t want to take what I said, which I find disturbing.

What pattern is Nora wearing in this video?
It’s a pattern that Norah is going to publish around October 15–and to our delight the yarn is MDK Jane!
How I miss Vogue Knitting Magazine. Maybe Norah could speak to the sad demise of the magazine and any plans for a new knitting publication?
