Inside the Workrooms at Chanel
Dear Kay,
I am a sucker for a behind-the-scenes documentary, and I’ve found one that is an absolute confection: Signe Chanel, a five-part documentary that follows the creation of a collection by Chanel’s designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Here’s the portal to this dreamworld on Rue Cambon, where the seamstresses are wizards, the stakes are sky high, and the demands of Monsieur Lagerfeld seem impossible to meet.
The access to the workrooms and the people working for Chanel makes this series juicy and intimate. Swearing couturiers! Mad dashes to deliver a gown to a client! I’m fascinated by a place where the everyday expectation is that each garment will be extraordinary, handmade, and perfect.
Love,
Ann
Thanks for this – get a copy of Dior and I too, showing behind the scenes with Raf Simon
Ooooooh, scrumptious! Thanks!
Fascinating! Thank you for posting this!
Oh my! I put it on and watched the whole thing while I was finishing some slipper socks…so amazing!
Loved watching the first part but can’t find how to get to the other 4 parts. Not listed anywhere on the site. Help, please…I’m addicted to it now!
i was having the same problem sue, i found if you enter Signe Chanel into the search bar on the top right of the page, it should take you to the 5 episodes.
Hi Sue–The other episodes should be visible on the same page as the first episode, below the big window where the first episode is shown. Not sure why you wouldn’t be able to see them. But I don’t understand a lot of things these days . . . 8 0
hmmm…i’m having the same trouble…i’ll keep looking, thank you! this is fascinating!
I think that Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most creative minds in fashion. I just love him.
ooh!
What a way to cheer up 2017’s start! Merci bien!
Loved this! And now I have a new Roku station to explore! Thanks.
How fascinating! And I have a new appreciation for the craftsmanship of those working behind the scenes.
I sat down to watch this immediately. Poof, there went a joyous Saturday, and miles of knitting accomplished. Thank you for the pointer. The rest of that site has amazing runway show videos, sure to eat up many Saturdays to come!
