Midsummer Extravaganza
Dear Kay,
Lazy Sunday is one of my favorite things about MDK.
In the interest of culling the finest, most bingey binges possible, we watch a lot of TV. We are CURATING, Kay. We’re suffering through a lot. OK, we’re not suffering much at all—we’re watching a lot of TV, mostly.
At this point, our MDK department called Lazy Sunday is a place where knitters can find a little bit of everything, and it’s all good.
- The weird little movies that knitters really need to see.
- The seven-season extravaganzas that can swamp a month of viewing—marathons of drama. Often British. Seldom violent.
- Classic movies that need to be rediscovered. Costume-based films get special attention.
Now that the doggiest days of summer are upon us, I’d like to point everybody to the full, rich cornucopia of Lazy Sundays we have collected in recent months.
You have dozens of options. Have a look. If you get started now, you’ll run through them all in about six months.
These are knitter-tested, prime accompaniments to your knitting adventures.
And don’t worry—we aren’t about to stop with our curation efforts. Somebody has to watch all this TV. We’re here to help.
Love,
Ann
Bless your heart for all the hard work on our behalf
Your immense sacrifices are deeply appreciated. It’s time for me to move on from endless reruns of NCIS, and you are here to show me the way!
An Instagram ad told me about Britbox…a new app from the BBC…all British shows, all the time. There was a lot of Empire waist happening in the, uh, advert. I thought of mdk when I saw ir. …..
This is one of my favorite sections too.
I highly recommend a re-watch of What’s Up Doc? With La Streisand and Ryan O’Neal. Even the high schooler laughed her head off. Also, Charade (Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant). Fun and zany,
Such a funny film OMG! Thanks for the reminder – did you find it streaming somewhere?
Ever noticed the amazing sweaters in the original Twin Peaks tv shows? Someone should publish a pattern book.
This is great! Thanks!
Thanks love lazy knitting days
Thank you for your service to the knitting community. Your sacrifices are appreciated.
Yes, I love this section! Thank you for introducing me to Happy Valley!!
