Editors’ note: Voting for Round 1 has now closed. But feel free to take a spin through the bracket and spend time with the 64 delicious patterns chosen for MDK March Mayhem 2018. The more we look at these beautiful designs, the more we admire them.
Dear pattern-loving people of the world,
The great day has arrived.
Today, we hitch up our hip-waders and venture into a deep river of talent represented by 64 knitting patterns.
It’s time to vote in Round 1 of MDK March Mayhem.
How to Vote
Please read the following carefully.
The ballot appears on the MDK March Mayhem bracket page.
Here is the bracket. Vote here.
From these 64 patterns, voters must pick 32 patterns. It’s a difficult task. Be strong. Go with your heart. You must pick eight patterns in each of the four brackets in order for your votes to register.

What’s Ahead: The Voting Schedule
Round 1: March 15-18. Vote for 8 in each category.
Round 2: March 20-21. Vote for 4 in each category.
Round 3: March 23-25. Vote for 2 in each category.
Round 4: March 27-28. Vote for 1 in each category.
Round 5: Championship. March 30-31.
MDK March Mayhem 2018 Champion will be announced on Monday, April 2, 2018.

The voting is such fun…thanks! And also, thanks for the free shipping today. I used it as an excuse to order some yarn I have been wanting for a while. Now I’ll have be able to knit it as the tension mounts with the bracket voting. 🙂
It would be MUCH easier to keep track and vote if the items on the ballot appeared in the same order as they are presented in the post.

For fairness, the designs appear in a different order on each ballot. This way the same patterns do not appear at the top of the list for everyone.
It will get easier in the next rounds, as the number of patterns gets smaller.
