Pattern Scout: 6 Joji Designs We Really Love
Let’s go hang out with Joji Locatelli for a bit. With almost 300 designs to her credit, we could do this all day long. Today, we’re focusing on designs that pair well with Atlas, our lofty, lovely Rambouillet yarn.
(Pattern names are links to the Ravelry page, where you can purchase the pattern and see all the details about each design.)
Super Simple Summer Sweater
Pick two colors for the top-down, deep-yoke everyday Super Simple Summer Sweater. Choose Natural and Shale for a look like Joji’s sample shown here. Or go for subtle contrast with Merlot and Mouse.
Tii Pullover
An i-cord unites the halves of ingenious, richly cabled Tii. We love Peat, Cedar, and Shale for this design.
Charles VNeck
This pullover is a unisex pattern named for and inspired by Joji’s husband Charles. We like Navy and Truffle for “wear it with everything” ease and Barn Red to add a warm glow to winter outfits.
All the Love
All the Love is a Joji for Charity pattern in the designer’s signature boxy silhouette. Tutu, obvs.
Manzanilla
Cables and garter ridges ornament this dolman-sleeved design. It would pop in MDK Atlas Citron or Lapis. We also like subtler shades like Whisper, Mouse, and Cork for Manzanilla.
Recoleta
Recoleta unites the simplicity of a shawl collar, raglan sleeve shape with panels of lace to frame the cardigan edges. Rich Merlot would be our pick.
My favorite of her designs is “Granito.” It uses that clever top down construction and has cute little pockets.

Fingering weight though so Atlas wouldn’t work
Love love love her designs! After I finish up with a couple time-sensitive gift knits, I can’t wait to start my grace pullover in Atlas Tutu!
I knit her Citadel with Atlas! I bought the yarn when Atlas just came out, but I’ll confess I only just finished it last week….
Your Atlas colors really do play well with each other. Chloe
Oof, I’ve got so many Joji Patterns in my library, that’s it not even funny. I’ve got her Rituals & Elton patterns kitted up right now & ready to cast on as soon as I finish my current WIP.
The words summer-wool-sweater do not compute in my world. On the summer I don’t want anything vaguely woolly touching me!
I’m with you. Even the silk/linen blends are indoor or autumn wear.
If you knit the summer sweater in Atlas, you could re-title it the Super Simple Cozy Sweater – and wear it some other time.
That striped one on top— must have!
So hard to choose among her fabulous designs. Also love Tomas! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tomas-pullover
I love Joji designs!! I just finished her “Citadel” it is a big project – but so worth it. I’m sure it would be gorgeous in some Atlas yanrn.
Loved knitting Recoleta. Well written and such a fun and engaging knit!
