The Night before Nash Yarn Fest

(with apologies to Clement Clarke Moore)

’Twas was the night before Nash Yarn Fest, and throughout the warehouse

All the MDKers were packing, lugging boxes about;

The Atlas and Jane were organized with care,

In hopes that fiber lovers would soon be there;

Ann and Kay were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of bluegrass pluckings sounded in their heads;

And Ashley with her headset, and Emily in her hat,

Their unsettled brains whirling with inner chit-chat,

When out at the Fairgrounds arose a small matter,

Storms were about, thunder boomed with a clatter.

Away to the stage we flew like a flash,

Where the Little Fox Yarnovers sang out a smash.

Nothing could crush the NYF glow

And the thought of the end made us all emo

When, what to my tiring eyes should appear,

So many new friends, I could shed a small tear,

Yarns and needles and bags and tools

Even beautiful pieces of knitting-type jewels.

With our bags full of love and wonderful things,

Well wishes rang out, “See you next Spring!”

“Now, Hannah! Now, Ashe! Now, Natasha and Pam!

On, Adrienne! On, Jen! On, Theo and Chris!

Straight to the exit! To the filled-up Uhaul!

Now drive away! Drive away! Drive away all!”

Into the night, as we all waved goodbye,

My feet hurt so bad, I had a small cry.

But nothing could stop us from our dreams of next year,

April 17 and 18!” we shouted for all to hear.

So, mark your calendars, next year is in sight

Happy NYF to all, and to all a good night!

Thank you for everyone’s support during our first yarn festival! It was a whirlwind, but all of the kind words, pats on the shoulder, hugs, and absolute happiness made it so much fun. Thanks for being there with us!
