Fun
Rhinebeck Pie Party!
Dear Friends,
If you’re Rhinebeck bound this year, we’d love to see you there.
We’ll be in the Merritt Books booth—a dazzling wonderland where you’ll meet a ton of authors and designers. It’s in Building B, around the corner from the picnic tables, and across the way from the kettle corn, from 11-2 on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22. We’ll be selling and signing our four Field Guides (last year we had only one, No. 1). The rest of the time, we will of course be running around the festival looking at everything.
But we are also having a party!
A pie party!
We know people have a lot of plans for their Rhinebeck Saturday night, Oct. 21. (For example, Jill Draper Makes Stuff’s open studio night is a highlight, this year featuring special guest Rachel Atkinson, the Daughter of a Shepherd, and her beautiful yarns from England. We wrote about her last year.)
So our party is an early one. It will be in a private home near the fairgrounds, an open house that starts at 5 and ends at 8.
The concept is simple:
- Pie. Local pie. An assortment of delicious local pie.
- Hot apple cider. (Cold cider optional.)
- Friendly people wearing fabulous handknits, and fabulous people wearing friendly handknits.
We’d love to see you there. Because space is limited, we’re doing tickets (free tickets).
Here’s the link to the invitation.
Hope to see you there!
Love,
Ann and Kay
P.S. Where we got that awesome image of a knitted pie crust: by kind permission of Lorna and Jill Watts of Knits for Life. Read about their knitted pies for Pi Day here. (And people think regular knitting, with yarn, takes patience.)
I just signed up! Sounds like a wonderful time. Husband and I will be wearing our Rhinebeck sweaters (unfortunately not matching!)
Darn! I won’t be there this year. It was fun being your neighbor in the crazy Merritt Books building. And I’m really most sorry about the pie!
Pie!!! Who could resist – I’ll see you there
I can’t wait for Rhinebeck weekend. Donuts and pie!?
I am not kidding. The minute I saw that pie picture I thought I smelled a pie baking in my oven. The gathering sounds so inviting and aromatic.
Two check marks will be added to my bucket list. Looking so forward to attending this event.
Why am I unemployed!?? Ugh…pie and knitting! 🙁
Whoa, what a pie! Mary, Paul, Mel, and Sue, eat your hearts out. Sadly, very sadly, I may miss Rhinebeck and the party as am probably going to London for most of October to help child mind (as they say there) the grands. On the other hand there’s this: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/mottisfont/features/kaffe-fassett-exhibition-at-mottisfont. Not sure if I’ll get there as it’s not particularly close.
Darn…already sold out!
As a pie baker, I have to say that is a real beauty at the top of the page!
I just found out I’ll be able to go to Rhinebeck. Thank goodness I had the foresight to knit a new sweater. Too bad the event is already full but it’s going to be an amazing time anyway!
