    Happy knitting!

  • That was a fun video. I liked seeing the hem decoration choices IRL and learn about the Shakerag tux! I’m very happy with both my skirt and tops.

  • Can one have too many Shakerag skirts? I think not. I have two and a variation with a different border. Now I think I need a lighter colored neutral one. Easy to make, easy care, cool and comfortable yet nice to wear anywhere. The Rowan Creative Linen is a perfect summer yarn but easy to wear year round where the winter is milder.

  • I lovelovelove my apple green Creative Linen Shakerag Shirt. It took me a while to knit it, but it is super fun to wear and I get compliments every time. Skirts are fun! And this one’s a good ‘un.

  • I bought the pattern when it first came out, but have yet to attempt it. Much watch Nell to see if she can convince me!

  • I will be making my first Shakerag skirt at Shakerag in June. My yarn is ready and I am so excited to take a class with Nell.

  • Not a skirt person but I love the idea. I hope everyone has fun making it and enjoys wearing it. It’s great that there is a discount on the yarn. Go everyone. I’ll look for pictures in the lounge and enjoy your work.

  • I immediately bought the pattern after watching this very entertaining talk. Now I just have to decide on the yarn colour. I have made both knitted skirts and knitted dresses but not for a few years so I’m really looking forward to tackling this pattern. I love the Shakerag top I made

  • At the age of 71, I always wonder if I am dressing like I’m younger than I should be but my self defense is always that I’m not THAT OLD. And this is a cute skirt and my legs still look great, so I will tell you how it looks when I finish

  • I am ready to knit my skirt but sizing is difficult! Nell I need your expertise to help me! I have knit many things even though I am not confident! That’s because I rarely get the perfect fit!

The zoom was absolutely pure joy!

  • Howdy y’all, I really, really, really want to make this skirt! But, I am having major confidence issues. Advice and pep talks welcome!

    • I feel like I am a walking pep talk for this skirt! Comfortable and cute, we really have to get those negative talk demons out of our heads and LIVE.

  • Loved this recording! Love Nell’s skirt but no longer wear skirts, unfortunately. I did buy Nell’s Moonflower Vest pattern a while back. It has pockets and a v-neck and looks so versatile! Still looking for the right yarn for the look I am after. It was nice to see Yvonne Gut from Ravelry who just does the best job knitting linen garments. Years ago as a real newbie I made Kat Coyle’s Linen Top. It ended up too short, but I remember not having any hand trouble knitting with Euroflax, and the resulting shimmering fabric (after its bath)) is so worth it. I am up to my ears in future projects and burgeoning stash, but looking forward to trying Creative Linen one day.

  • You’ve convinced me! When I first saw the Shakerag skirt this spring I was I intrigued. I have looked longingly at it many times since; yesterday I watched the video and that tipped me from undecided to “why not?!” So pattern purchased, now the “which color” debate is underway!
