Dear Kay,
Mosey on over to the PBS NewsHour to hear the latest from everybody’s favorite financial/country crooner, Merle Hazard.
I’m possibly slightly biased, but I find that Hubbo explains what’s ahead for our economy in a way that I can almost even understand.
Knitting proceeds apace. I have so much to catch you up on that it’s going to take forever, pretty much. I’m back for the duration, so get ready.
Love,
Ann
yeah!!! you are back!!!!
YEAH!!!
Love it! You have so much talent in your family.
Ready, waiting, and listening!! So glad you’re back!!!
Did you make that shirt?
Nevermind the shirt, look at that mustache in the background! But please, more knitting, less economy. The peasants (of which I am one) are revolting already…lol!
Yaay for Hubbo!!
I love knitting, but like the introduction of some economic rumination, too!
You have been soooo missed!
Yeah, glad to hear you are back! You were missed! Your hubbo is so funny! Can’t wait to see the knitting,I am always inspired by you both!

Makes me definitely want Janet Yellen as the next Fed chair – way too important a job to leave to Larry Summers
My husband works at the Fed – today he asked me if you were going to be in DC any time soon so he could brag around the office that he had met Mrs. Merle Hazard (and he would like to clarify a few things for Merle…..)
Great production! I like the backup singers in suits. So funny. Go, Merle!
BTW, I moved from Nashville to a suburb of Detroit a few weeks ago. The public library has both your books, so I think it is OK! : )
So glad to see you!
LOVE MERLE AND HIS MEN!!!!
I, too, think that the suit and ties for the back up singers is an inspired choice.
margieinmarland.
My immediate reaction to seeing something besides Lucy and Ethyl upside down, was ‘Yeah! You’re back!” but I see that was also the first comment at the top! Still. That’s what I’m feeling. I have missed you both so much. Do you know how much your blog is enjoyed by others? Thank you, so earnestly, for taking the time to do it – whenever you are able. 🙂
Hooray for 3 part harmony! And Manuel??
So.There’s our singing economist living neck deep in Knitting/Yarny Theory, hence The Great *Unwind*,saying what ima thinkin’– his being actually fun to learn from… and if feudal theory does not play out completely, we don’t all end up serfs, and our middle class is able to buy the yarn they want…
hmmm, what to call such a newly won success of the many?
The Great FO? The Great Skein? The Great Decorative Bind Off? The Great Pick Up and Knit? Ah, the Great Knit (the Econ and Society Back) Together – insert an advert graphic from ~1956 of grilling with friends in the back yard, with a grocery run that didn’t cost a day’s earnings… the Great Re-Wind, minus the social problems of those days. Well that’s gonna be several all-nighters. And way more than one knitter. Oh, yeah- what Renee said.Definitely.
Welcome back! I’ll go get that stockinette project so I can really listen to all you’ve got to say. I’m braced!
As for Merle, now I can’t wait to get home so I can listen!
So glad to see you back!
Restoring Glass-Steagall would help immensely….
OMG! Is that Paul Krugman singing back-up? I THINK SO!!!
Ann, that is just PRIME MERLE. My favorite yet. Harmony!Suits! Awesome shirt! Fear-inducing lyrics!
xoxoxoxo YOU THE MAN MERLE
LOVE!The backup singers—so perfect. I can’t believe there I was in Nashville- nay under Merle’s roof–and I didn’t think to get his autograph and pose next to him. I’m such a rookie.
My thoughts and prayers are with you hoping that you and all the souls in Nashville are okay after news of yet more devastating flooding in the US.
Take Care Ann
It DOES look like Paul Krugman. And another OMG…is that a vintage Sho-Bud pedal steel? Merle and the Boys rock!
I come for the knitting, but you two always have so much interesting and entertaining stuff in addition to the yarn.
Dear Ann & Kay
I have just started my knitting blog again after years & what life throws at one. I am patiently awaiting the arrival of The Curious Knitters’ Guide. There is a pattern in it for a fabulous blanket I cannot wait to begin knitting.
Love,
Maggie
That was fun!
Finally got a chance to watch Merle and the Boys. Love the Jordinaire-type back up dudes. The house in the backdrop looks suspiciously like the house on the cover of Bowling Ave. Am I right? Miss y’all so much. Hope the Geothermal Extravaganza is keeping everyone cool!

Welcome back! I so relate to the semiconscious yarn buying deal. I keep joining Sundara’s luxury yarn clubs; her letters are very persuasive, and I keep falling, especially when I am up and online at odd hours ( the older I get, the less I sleep). But oh, the yarn!
Your Imagine looks great; I don’t imagine anyone but you will see where you tweaked the pattern.

Thanks for another fiscally responsible tune.
After watching that, I really would like to get financial advice from Merle. Styling on this number was terrific, too. P.S. I just entered my stuff in the State Fair of Texas, and thought of you.
