Dear knitter,

Happy Saturday!

It’s here! Our new baby, our spring chicken: MDK Field Guide No. 29: Mosaic, with five smashing designs by Amy Christoffers. Read all about it here, and take a happiness break to leaf through the lookbook here.

Members of the MDK Society receive this Field Guide as part of their membership. If you haven’t yet joined, sign up here—and we’ll send your Field Guide, membership pin, and membership card right away.

You can also order your Field Guide No. 29: Mosaic à la carte, right here, in print + ebook or ebook-only editions.

To celebrate the launch of Field Guide No. 29: Mosaic, we had a grand Zoom party yesterday, with the designer herself as our special guest. Meet Amy Christoffers by watching the recording here. This event is free.

New Class! New Class!

If you’re in a color rut, or if you ever struggle with picking colors for your projects, we have fantastic news: Ann Weaver is here to unlock the secrets to choosing colors with confidence.

On May 9, join us for a fun 90 minutes of colorful learning with designer and teacher Ann Weaver. This will be a virtual class on Zoom, and yes—it will be recorded.

Read on for all the details and to reserve your place right here.

Meanwhile…

We had a big time on MDK this week.

We might have to lock up the sample for Amy Christoffers’s Waffle Pullover—everybody wants one, but they’re just going to have to knit their own! Amy has such a knack for combining interesting texture with an easy-to-wear shape. Mark our words: this is the sweater of the year.

Amy’s inspiration for Field Guide No. 29 is quilts—the Ocean Waves Cowl is the quiltiest! It’s also an opportunity to play with one of our favorite color-shifting yarns from Freia.

MDK’s First Knitter, Nell Ziroli, always goes her own way. See what she did with Field Guide No. 29.

Good luck prying Ann and Kay off the sofa today—we’re knitting for 12 hours for Knit for Food, a fundraising knit-a-thon that is more important this year than ever. Lock arms with your fellow knitters to support this inspiring effort here—every dollar makes a difference.

It’s so much more than a mere marathon

Your Support Is Everything—Thank You!

At MDK, making knitters happy is all we think about, every single day. If you love what we’re doing, it’s vital—and easy—to support MDK.

One great way, of course: join the MDK Society. And also, whenever you shop with MDK, sign up for a workshop, or share our content with others, you’re directly supporting the yarnmakers, artisans, teachers, and writers that we feature here. Thank you!

Questions? Email us anytime at hello@moderndailyknitting.com, and you’ll get a prompt response from a real live MDK person.

Stay healthy, take care of each other, and knit on.

Love,

Ann and Kay

PS Please forward this Snippets to a knitter friend—we appreciate it so much!
