Believe it or not, this month marks the 20th anniversary of the blog post that started MDK. We had no idea what we were getting into with that larkish first step—we hadn’t even met each other yet—but it’s been a heckuva lot of fun. We’re grateful to all of you for being such good company on this journey to all the places knitting takes us. What’s next?

As Paris begins to empty out for les grandes vacances, our correspondent Franklin Habit is in a reverie that only slow stitching can impart. 

We went yarn detecting with Jillian Moreno, and now we know what ply twist is—and what it does. 

Max Daniels handed us her golden keys to living life and making imperfect-but-good-enough decisions.

Ann excavated an astounding number of works-in-progress to scrounge up some vacation knitting. 

Sometimes a dishcloth gets above its station (and it’s wonderful).

Knit the Sei Cowl

Have you heard the news? In August, Olga Buraya-Kefelian will be leading a virtual workshop on her fabulous Sei Cowl. We’d love to have you with us for this very special experience.

Guided by Olga, one of the most engaging teachers we know, we’ll learn to make the Sei Cowl, a gorgeous project that opens up Olga’s world of graphic slipped-stitch patterns. You’ll leave the workshop inspired, holding the keys to a fascinating kingdom.
