Dee Hardwicke
Dee Hardwicke is an artist, designer, knitter and knitting book author who lives and works in Wales, UK. With a fine arts background, Dee continues in the artisan traditions of the Arts & Crafts movement and is endlessly inspired by the beauty of the British landscape from season to season. Her designs—which begin life in her sketchbooks and have been used in exclusive collaborations with partners including the National Trust, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Museums & Galleries—celebrate Dee’s passion for color and for the wonders of the natural world.
Renowned for the sell-out knitting design and color workshops and events that she holds in venues that include the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and London’s famous Liberty store, one of Dee’s greatest joys is to help people unlock their creativity and to see their artistic confidence grow.
Dee is the author of several knitting books including The Knitted Fabric: Colourwork Projects for You and Your Home (Laine Publishing, 2022) and A Story in Yarn: How to Design and Knit an Intarsia Heirloom Quilt (Quail Publishing, 2016). Even several years after the book’s publication, Dee continues to receive e-mails from people as far afield as Australia, the United States and Europe who have knitted their own versions of Dee’s quilt and want to share their stories.
