Crochet Bucket hat

Crochet a bucket hat! This is the pattern we used for MDK Summer Camp 2022, an online event where over 100 knitters learned to crochet by making a hat together.

We’ve kept the design simple for newbies to crochet: there’s one size, and a sweet and simple video for learning how to get started. Add a skein of Creative Linen and a US G (4 mm) hook.

The finished hat measures about 21″ in circumference and about 9″ from the starting round to the edge of the brim once it’s blocked.

Consider working the hat in a slightly heavier yarn, Rowan Handknit Cotton, or in thinner yarns, like Euroflax linen and Summerlite 4ply, for customizing the fit of this design. (For thinner yarns, we’d also size down the hook.)
