Swarf
Designed by Cecelia Campochiaro
FIELD GUIDE NO. 19: MARLS
Specs & Details
It looks like a sweater, and functions like a cowl or scarf—in other words, it’s Cecelia Campochiaro’s homage to the venerable accessory known as the dickie.
When you slip it over your head and add a jacket, it looks like you’re wearing a cozy pullover with lushly marled gradient stripes and chewy basketweave texture.
Think of it as a sweater you can get without having to make the back, or those pesky sleeves.
Sweater + scarf = swarf!

Notes
The only difference in sizes is the length of the front. To determine your size, put on a favorite jacket, then measure from your collarbone to bottom of jacket. The swarf should be 1–3″ (2.5–7.5 cm) shorter than bottom of jacket. The front is worked first, then placed on hold while the back is worked. The two pieces are joined and the yoke is worked in the round, with decreases to narrow the neck.
