Handknit Cotton is one of the classic Rowan yarns we have loved for so long. The worsted weight means it’s got a nice body to it, and it knits up fast. But really, it’s the colors that make us kind of nuts. All these shades work together, in whatever combination grabs you.
The six dishcloth patterns in Field Guide No. 4: Log Cabin make for a great tutorial in the techniques of log cabin knitting. After a few of these, you’ll start vamping on the size of your squares, the size of your cloths—at one point, Kay started making intarsia squares inside her dishcloths. She may have knitted a few dishcloths while completely asleep. The dishcloth thing is a little addicting.
